Les
Championnats du monde du Val di Fiemme 2013 promettent
d'être de grands championnats car les aménagements
qui ont été apportés au site ont
sculpté de belles pistes.
Pour ce test, grandeur nature, on a assité à
une course d'usure où il fallait réussir
à rester dans le groupe de tête. Quatorze
ont réussi à le faire jusqu'à la
ligne, mais deux favoris pour le podium ont sans doute
perdu tout espoir : Alexander Legkov qui a perdu 2 minutes
et Maurice Manificat 2'24s. Le jour sans pour le Français
au bien mauvais moment. Il doit être énormément
déçu ce soir mais qu'il se rassure Momo
garde toute notre admiration pour ce qu'il a fait jusque-là.
Robin Duvillard aura été la grande satisfaction
dans le camp français. En classique, le Villardien
progresse encore. Il a réussi à rester au
contact jusqu'au dernier kilomètre et a franchi
la ligne en 21ème position avec seulement 39 secondes
de retard sur Eldar Roenning, le costaud du jour. Autres
hommes forts très en vue dans cette mass start,
les deux Canadiens, Alex Harvey et Devon Kershaw. Ce dernier
partage la troisième place au général
avec Marcus Hellner qui finit mieux ce Tour qu'il ne l'avait
commencé.

“I will see, it’s a nice advantage with 1.22 minutes
ahead. My goal was to take as many bonus seconds as possible,
and I hope the gap is big enough for tomorrow”.
“It was very tough, but it was also very nice with this
snow, good tracks and a lot of fans. It was a great race, but
perhaps the uphills were a bit too steep. Perhaps they can do
something with this for next year. It was a perfect race for
me, and I’m really satisfied with my performance”.

“It was a hard one. I felt a bit tired before the start.
I was testing skis, and I had a really good one today, a new
one with great grip. I was confident with my skis, and after
two laps I had a great confidence that this could be my day”.
“We tried with a bit of tactic, but I think Petter had
a tough day today. Niklas and I were up front to help him with
the bonus seconds, but Dario was there as well, and he is really
strong. Even though Petter won bonus seconds, Dario took quite
a few as well, so we didn’t win too much”.
“My goal for tomorrow will be to reach the top, still being
alive”.
Maurice Manificat
La course qui fait mal. Cette année, je n'ai pas été
surpris ou énervé, je savais que sur cette piste
infernale, on pouvait perdre gros. Malheureusement, je n'avais
pas de jus, pas de jambes ; j'ai vite été dans
le rouge après deux tours. Mes skis accrochaient super
bien, la glisse un peu moins mais aucunement dû aux techniciens.
Le 35km a laissé des traces. Je me suis battu jusqu'au
bout sans me plaindre. Je suis dégoûté,
toute une semaine à batailler comme un vrai pour rester
dans le coup chaque jour et tout s'envole en une heure. J'ai
honte car tout le staff, techniciens, kinés, coachs,
s'est donné à 120% et je ne peux même pas
leur donner ne serait-ce qu'un top 5, car je m'en serais contenté.
Mais ce soir, je ne suis pas dépité, je vais tout
donner demain pour la montée finale, c'est en skate,
s'il me reste de l'énergie, je vais tout mettre ; mon
objectif c'est le classement général de la Coupe
du Monde, la saison n'est pas fini et il y a des points à
aller chercher encore demain sur la montée finale (et
infernale) de l'Alpe Cermis (le top 10 est faisable si je me
sens mieux), j'aimerais que ce qui a été fait,
n'ait pas été fait en vain. Je n'ai pas dit mon
dernier mot.
Alex Harvey
Je suis ravi de me retrouver sur le podium. Je me savais en
pleine forme tout au long du Tour, mais il y avait un petit
quelque chose qui manquait à chaque fois. Puis aujourd'hui,
tout est tombé en place. Mes skis allaient tellement
bien que je savais avoir une chance d'atteindre le podium au
moment d'aborder la dernière descente. J'ai eu un long
traitement hier soir avec Shayne (Hutchins) et un autre ce matin
avant la course car j'avais des tensions musculaires. Ça
a certainement fait une différence . Ce parcours est
vraiment difficile. C'est celui qui comporte le plus de dénivelés
sur le circuit. Les montées sont abruptes et les descentes
sont rapides de sorte que nous avons peu de temps pour récupérer.
La double poussée est déterminante ici, donc il
faut être un bon skieur sur tous les plans pour espérer
bien faire. Il nous reste la montée finale. Ce n'est
pas mon épreuve favorite, mais je me suis maintenant
mieux positionné. Il me faudrait toutefois connaître
une journée magique pour espérer faire un autre
podium. Mais ce n'est pas impossible. |
